Our Story

How we celebrate life and forge connections.

At Sunnefolc, our story is woven from a shared passion for culture and a deep appreciation for the arts. Founded by Pearl and Yangs, two individuals whose love for heritage and creativity fuels every aspect of our business. Driven by a desire to create within the cultural landscape, Pearl and Yangs embarked on a journey that coincided with the unique challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was during this time that they discovered a platform for their vision through heritage webinars, which subsequently evolved into youth-oriented workshops. These virtual explorations became the cornerstone of our company, offering a bridge between tradition and innovation, connecting enthusiasts globally in a time of isolation.

Beyond their entrepreneurial pursuits, Pearl and Yangs share a steadfast bond in a stable relationship, poised on the brink of a new chapter as they prepare to welcome a new addition to their family. This dedication to both personal and professional growth shapes the ethos of Sunnefolc, infusing it with warmth, dedication, and a profound sense of community.

FAQs

Why won’t you just pursue a career in heritage or conservation?

Erm, because the income really cannot make it lah. Humanities graduates are often associated with nonprofit organisations, government agencies, or museums, which may offer lower salaries compared to the private sector. Besides, my original career choice was to be an academic in the university, but along the way I learnt to appreciate the idea of independence and choice more.

Anyway I am volunteering at local museums and in the future I might also open a cultural consultancy or a tour agency. Remember, if you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.

What do you want to achieve?

We’re truly passionate about helping youths gain a deeper appreciation for this land they call home and inspiring them to explore life trajectories that align with their true interests.

Follow our heritage research journey.

In our pursuit for creating awareness for local heritage, Pearl and I run this Instagram page @sgheritage out of interest. We ran several heritage webinars just for fun in 2020 and we hope to see you at our next one!
